Tbilisi City Hall launches micro and small businesses support program

Tbilisi City Hall launches a new support initiative aimed at empowering micro and small enterprises. Such a statement made today Mayor of the capital.

“We are initiating a program to bolster micro and small businesses. Its goal is to create new opportunities for entrepreneurs who previously lacked sufficient financial resources to expand their operations.

This financing will enable them to acquire essential technical equipment, enhance production processes, grow their workforce, and deliver higher quality, competitive products to consumers.

Eligible beneficiaries, active entrepreneurs with an annual turnover under GEL 500,000, will receive funding for equipment, machinery, and technology necessary for production, as well as other categories vital for processing and adding value to their products.

The maximum co-financing amount will be set at GEL 20,000. The applicant’s contribution will be proportional: for requests up to GEL 5,000, the co-financing share is 10%; for amounts between GEL 5,001 and 20,000, it increases to 15%.

Beneficiary selection will be based on specific criteria aligned with the program’s objectives and the potential impact of the support. Priority will be given to applicants with active enterprises and a clear plan for purchasing machinery or equipment that significantly enhances their operations. Special attention will be paid to applications demonstrating how the investment will improve product quality, increase production volume, or create added value, such as introducing new product lines, refining existing products, or optimizing production processes”, - explained Kakha Kaladze.

Application acceptance starts today, July 30, and will continue for 15 days.
