Borjomi is not only the first and leading mineral water company in Georgia by history, it is also the country"s calling card worldwide, said Prime Minister of Georgia at the inauguration ceremony of the new Borjomi plant facility.

According to the Head of Government of Georgia the construction of the factory of international standards on 48 000 square meters in Kvibisi, with an investment of 120 million, is the largest cash injection ever made in this sector in the history of independent Georgia.

"The plant is built with energy-efficient materials and every stage of production complies with the highest international environmental standards. It serves as a bridge between our unique heritage and a responsible, sustainable future. It is also encouraging that the company is not stopping at what has already been achieved, but continues to offer consumers innovative products such as Borjomi Lemonade and new water lines. Along with advanced technologies, this contributes to the implementation of the company`s ambitious strategic vision to establish itself in the markets of the US, China and the Middle East.

Equally important is the project`s social impact. Employing around 600 local residents means stable income for as many families and, at the same time, new prospects for prosperity and development for the entire Borjomi municipality and the region. Priority of our government is to provide maximum support precisely to such national industries that create wealth within the country and secure Georgia`s reputation as a producer of high-quality goods worldwide. At the ceremony, speeches were also delivered by Minister of Economy Mariam Kvrivishvili, IDS Borjomi International CEO Afnan Ahsan and IDS Borjomi Georgia CEO Ivane Machavariani.

Prime Minister, together with members of government, toured the newly-inaugurated plant facility and was briefed on its production capacity by the company`s management. The plant`s 4 ultra-modern bottling lines have an initial annual capacity of 750 million bottles, which is expected to reach 1 billion by 2030.
