Prime Minister of Georgia together with Tbilisi Mayor inaugurates a new multifunctional public center in Samgori

The development of multifunctional centers throughout the country will be one of our top priorities, said the Prime Minister of Georgia in his speech at the inauguration ceremony.

The Head of Government of Georgia and the Mayor of Tbilisi toured the new public center, which brings together swimming pools, fitness and gymnastics halls, basketball and martial arts arenas. Located on 11 500 square meters, the multifunctional center also hosts volleyball, boxing, wrestling and judo facilities, a spa area, a media library, a choreography studio and a youth and student center.

According to Irakli Kobakhidze, it is very important for every district of the capital to have such a multifunctional center, and Government of Georgia will provide full support to the City Hall in this direction: "I have seen such centers in many countries, and I can say that the work here has been carried out at the highest level, according to the highest standards. This project is truly impressive. I would like to thank Kakha Kaladze and every person involved in its implementation. This is exactly what our capital, our entire country need most. We want every municipality to have such high-standard multifunctional centers. They are important for young people and children, but not only for them".

Once fully operational, Samgori Multifunctional Public Center will serve up to 10 000 citizens per month. Total cost of the project amounted to GEL 20 million.
