The Tbilisi City Court has ordered the detention of Paata Burchuladze, Murtaz Zodelava, Irakli Nadiradze, Paata Manjgaladze, and Lasha Beridze, the organisers of the October 4 protest rally, as a preventive measure.
All of them are charged with organising and leading groups involved in violence, attempting to seize a strategically and nationally significant object, violently disrupting Georgia’s constitutional order, and inciting the overthrow of the state government.
Burchuladze, Zodelava, Nadiradze, Manjgaladze, and Beridze face a potential sentence of up to 9 years in prison.
A pre-trial hearing in the case is scheduled for November 26.
