As a result of jointly conducted operational measures and investigative actions, officers of Adjara Main Division of the Patrol Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Adjara Investigation Division of the Main Investigation Division of the same department arrested D.I., a citizen of Ukraine, born in 2006, in Batumi on charges of illegal purchase and storage of a large amount of narcotic drugs and facilitation of their illegal sale.

The committed crimes envision up to 20 years or life imprisonment.

Patrol inspectors stopped D.I. in Batumi for ID verification while he was moving on foot. As a result of a personal search of the accused person, law enforcement officers seized 15 packages of the narcotic drug "tetrahydrocannabinol" packaged for sale as evidence.

The investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 260-(4) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
