The UK`s Supreme Court (via the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council) has announced its final ruling in the long-running case involving Bidzina Ivanishvili and the Swiss bank Credit Suisse’s subsidiary, CS Life (Bermuda) Ltd.
In its decision, the Privy Council unanimously dismissed CS Life`s appeal, a subsidiary of Credit Suisse, against Ivanishvili on all issues except for the precise date when the assessment of damages should commence. The court also rejected the cross-appeal.
Consequently, the court reaffirmed rulings of previous courts that had ordered the Swiss bank to compensate Bidzina Ivanishvili for the damages he suffered.
