Officers of Vake-Saburtalo Police Main Division of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested two Ukrainian citizens on charges of illegal purchase and storage of narcotics and preparation by a group to facilitate the illegal sale of narcotics in a particularly large amount by prior agreement.

The investigation established that the defendants had developed a drug distribution scheme and were planning to obtain a particularly large amount of narcotics by various methods.

During the investigative experiment, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large amount of the narcotic drug “Methadone” as evidence from the location indicated by the defendants. During a search of their temporary residence, materials necessary for packaging narcotics were seized as well.

The investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 18-260-4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisioning up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
