Economic development based on knowledge and innovation is one of the top priorities of the Government of Georgia. Such a statement the Prime Minister of Georgia made at the opening ceremony of the Kutaisi Technological Hub.

As he noted, the Kutaisi Technological Hub will become a center of regional importance for knowledge, innovation, and technological development.

“I am pleased that today we are opening the Kutaisi Technological Hub, which, I am convinced, will become a center of regional importance for knowledge, innovation, and technological development.

I am glad that the building, which was a symbol of the previous government’s corruption, will acquire a completely new function starting today. Economic development based on knowledge and innovation is one of the top priorities of the Government of Georgia.

Over the past years, we have developed a support system for innovative startups, created a national network of technoparks, introduced special tax conditions for technological and innovative businesses, attracted international companies, and provided thousands of young people with the opportunity to acquire modern knowledge and professional development. All of this has already brought a significant economic impact to the country - with government support, more than 300 innovative and high-tech startups have generated over 800 million GEL in economic benefits, more than 4,000 of our fellow citizens have been employed, and Georgia has established itself as one of the most attractive hubs in the region”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
