It appears that the “stateless” individuals holding Georgian citizenship grieve more for Ukraine than for Georgia, simply because that is the directive they have received. The Prime Minister of Georgia wrote on his social media message.

"The fact is that these political forces, the non-governmental organizations associated with them and other active supporters - who have formed, under external influence, an organized radical force acting as agents and have repeatedly demonstrated that their primary objective in Georgia is to advance the interests of foreign actors - were not troubled by anti-Russian aggression during the 2008-2012 period.

The radical anti-Russian sentiment among these groups emerged only after Russia`s second invasion of Ukraine. It is clear that the Global War Party needed the scale of the current conflict in order to draw Europe into the war and to intensify Russophobia among its aligned groups worldwide, including in Georgia, to the highest possible level.

To clarify once again, the rhetoric of foreign agents toward Russia was neither as harsh nor as negative before the 2008 war nor after the August War - that is, at a time when the issue directly concerned their own (at least formally) homeland; when hundreds of Georgian soldiers, police officers and civilians lost their lives as a result of Russian aggression; when Giorgi Antsukhelidze was tortured and killed; when we lost over 120 Georgian villages; when tens of thousands of our fellow citizens became internally displaced persons and when something unprecedented happened - Russia recognized the so-called independence of Georgia`s occupied territories.

These groups declared Russia an irreconcilable enemy only after its second invasion of Ukraine. If we were speaking about Ukrainian citizens, such a position would, of course, be entirely understandable. However, it appears that certain Georgian citizens have no homeland and care more about Ukraine than Georgia itself, because they have received such directives. The paradox - yet a fact - is that, in their view, Russia became a genuine occupier not after occupying Georgian territories, but only after occupying territories in Ukraine.

Naturally, their emotions are entirely artificial as well, because foreign agents are devoid of any genuine values - something they have repeatedly demonstrated to this day. However, a logical question arises: why did they become Russophobes now and not then, when it was Georgia that was directly affected?

Do they not even formally recognize Georgia as their homeland and is Ukraine their true homeland instead? It would be logical that if someone were to develop radical anti-Russian sentiments, this should have happened not after 2022, but after 2008. The fact that their current Russophobia is insincere is confirmed by specific examples. Without going too far, we all know that the millions of Russian rubles transferred from the Russian state treasury to Elene Khoshtaria have not provoked any reaction from Russophobic politicians, NGO representatives, journalists or activists", - writes Irakli Kobakhidze.
