Georgia remains committed to working with international partners to protect biodiversity, strengthen nature conservation efforts - Kobakhidze

Along with regional cooperation, international partnerships play an important role in translating commitments made in the field of nature conservation into practical results, said Georgian Prime Minister in his speech at the COP17 Leaders’ Summit.

As he noted, strengthening international cooperation, mobilizing resources, and sharing experience are essential to ensuring effective and sustainable protection of biodiversity.

“As 2030 approaches, our top priority must be to translate global commitments to biodiversity conservation into concrete and lasting achievements. This summit provides an important opportunity to further strengthen our collective commitment to achieving the goals of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and to give new impetus to their implementation. Georgia remains committed to working with international partners to protect biodiversity, strengthen conservation efforts, and ensure that the preservation of the natural environment is linked to the well-being of future generations”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
