Georgia presents a strong record of significant achievements at the biodiversity summit - Songulashvili

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is participating in the 17th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity [COP17] in Yerevan, alongside the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“First and foremost, we should highlight the progress made in expanding Georgia’s protected areas, which is progressing steadily, covering currently 22% of the country’s territory and planning to increase this figure to 30% by 2030. It is also important to underscore that the management mechanisms currently in place are operating effectively. Furthermore, Georgia has achieved notable results in species recovery, with tangible progress in the mentioned area. Overall, Georgia is participating in the Biodiversity Summit with significant achievements to its credit”, - said David Songulashvili.
