EU monitoring mission has been extended for two years. The decision was adopted by the European Council and the budget of 18-million-euro budget was approved. Mission will operate in Georgia until 14 December 2018. According to the official statement of European Council, mission is contributing to the restoration of trust between the parties of the conflict and normalization of the situation. EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia operates since 2008.
