Parliament approved with 86 votes the major package o government changes.. According to the decision, 4 ministries will be annulled and merged with several other agencies. In total, 13 Ministry and 1 State Minister"s Office will operate.

"The expected outcome of these amendments should be based on effective, good, accountable government activities and good aims of state governance. We have tried to make all these changes in a compromised version of this package and therefore had full support during the discussion. This means that we supported the decision of the head of the government, "said Eka Beselia, chair person of the parliamentary committee on legal issues.

The new composition of the government will be approved in two weeks at an extraordinary session. Vice Speaker Gia Volsk says that optimization in the ministries will continue in 2018.
