As a result of operative-searching and investigative actions, the representatives of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia have detained one person on the fact of misappropriation of the state property in large quantities.

The investigation revealed that the accused person, using a counterfeit acceptance certificate dated 1997, fraudulently gained ownership on 1 000 sq/m land plot worth of 157 729 GEL in an fruit and seeding farmstead located in Tbilisi. The plot of land was seized as a result of investigative actions.

The investigation is underway under the third part of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 6 to 9 years.
