The officers of the Main Division for the Fight against organized crime under the Central Criminal Police Department and Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of jointly held operative and investigative activities, detained two persons- G.T. (DoB 1985) and O.K. (DoB 1983) in Batumi, wanted for the premeditated murder.

The mentioned persons were announced as wanted for the premeditated murder committed under aggravating circumstances that took place in 2007.

On May 24, 2007, Batumi City Court found both detainees guilty in absentia and announced as wanted individuals. Under the decision of Batumi City Court G.T. and O.K. were sentenced to 18 years and 9 months of imprisonment.

Investigation established that on January 1, 2007 on the crossing of Era and Vazha-Pshavela streets, Batumi G.T. and O.K. inflicted severe injuries with a cold steel to V.A. and D.A. on the basis of conflict. The wounded citizens were transported to the hospital. V.A. died due to the sustained traumas on January 13, 2007.

The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department took G.T. and O.K. under arrest as a result of operative and search activities on February 10, 2021 in Batumi.

Detainees have already been transferred to the penitentiary facility.
