The Trust Group heard the Defense Minister, Juansher Burchuladze reporting on the activity of the Ministry for 2022 and the improvement of the military readiness of the Defense Forces.

The emphasis was made on the main directions and novelties of the Defense Code developed by the Ministry.

“At the meeting, we discussed actions such are the modernization of the armament and equipment, construction of new infrastructure, international cooperation in the defense sphere, especially with NATO states and the USA. We touched upon the social guarantees of our military personnel and the improvement of their conditions. The Ministry and the Parliament – the Defense and Security Committee and the Trust Group closely cooperate. This year, we plan to hear the thematic inquiries on defense issues within the Group format”, - said the Head of the Group, Irakli Beraia.

The attendees emphasized the EU and NATO aspirations of Georgia and underlined the meaning of the reforms in this view.
