More than 1,300 schools have been destroyed in government-held areas of Ukraine since Russia’s 2022 invasion, Unicef has said.

Ukraine said on Tuesday that its forces had pushed deeper into Russian defensive lines near the village of Robotyne, a day after claiming control over the village on the southern front.

Russian air defences reportedly downed Ukrainian drones over the Tula and Belgorod regions, Moscow’s defence ministry said on Tuesday, without indicating if there had been damage or casualties.

Russian troops carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in Lyman and Bakhmut directions. In total, more than 30 combat engagements took place on the front during the day. This is stated in the report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue the offensive operation in Melitopol direction. The defenders gain a foothold on the reached boundaries and carry out counter-battery fight.

During the day, the Russian invaders launched five missile strikes, 47 air strikes, and 48 MLRS attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian troops and populated settlements. As a result of enemy attacks, civilians were killed and injured; residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure objects were destroyed.
