High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy responds to the fact of killing of a Georgian citizen and the illegal detention of another citizen by the Russian occupation forces near the village of Kirbali.

“The EU strongly condemns the killing of a Georgian citizen and the detention of another one by the Russian border guards in Kirbali. We call for an immediate release.

Russian military presence in the Georgian occupied breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia is illegal”, - tweeted Josep Borrell.
