According to the education reform, the Grade 11 of public schools will become specialized, Minister of Education said at the presentation of the general education reform concept. As he explained, pupils will be able to focus solely on the subjects they are required to pass in the upcoming national examinations.
“This aligns with our core objectives: to re-engage pupils with their education, to enhance the prestige and standing of schools, and to alleviate the financial pressures faced by families in preparing students for national exams.
We are introducing what we call the “repetitorium” in Grade 11, where students will have the opportunity to concentrate only on the subjects they must pass in the national exams. This will be an intensive, one-year programme designed to maximize learner involvement. They will no longer need to undertake additional courses outside school. The entire educational process will be tailored around the subjects and material most relevant to the exam syllabus”, - added Givi Mikanadze.
