It is regrettable when the EU`s top diplomat openly state that she does not seek engagement with Georgia`s Government, chosen through the democratic will of the Georgian people - Botchorishvili

Georgian Foreign Minister criticised EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, saying it is regrettable that the bloc’s top diplomat has openly stated that she does not intend to cooperate with the Georgian Government, which was elected based on the democratic will of the Georgian people.

"It is regrettable when the EU’s top diplomat openly state that she does not seek engagement with Georgia's Government, chosen through the democratic will of the Georgian people, while claiming to support those same people. Dialogue, not disengagement, is the foundation of a genuine partnership.

Georgia remains committed to respectful engagement with the European Union in the interest of our citizens and our shared European future. But we will not remain silent when the democratic choice of the Georgian people is disregarded. Democracy means respecting voters` decisions - not only when they are politically convenient", - writes Maka Botchorishvili on her Facebook page.
