The Tbilisi City Court fully accepted the evidence presented by the Prosecutor`s Office and found the defendant guilty of the facts of illegal purchase, storage, sale of large and especially large quantities of narcotic drugs, illegal sowing, growing, cultivation of a plant containing narcotic drugs, and facilitation of the illegal sale of the plant "cannabis".

The evidence examined at the trial proved that the defendant illegally purchased and stored a particularly large amount of the narcotic drug "buprenorphine", which he sold to one person at different times.

It was also confirmed that the accused, in order to facilitate the illegal sale of narcotics, illegally planted, grew, and cultivated a particularly large amount of the drug-containing plant "cannabis" in his own home.

The accused was charged under Article 260, Part 2, Subparagraph "a" and Part 3, Subparagraph "a" of the Criminal Code of Georgia (illegal purchase and storage of large and especially large quantities of narcotic drugs), Article 260, Part 5, Subparagraph "a"(illegal sale of large quantities of narcotic drugs), Article 265, Part 3, Subparagraph "a" (illegal sowing, growing, cultivation of a plant containing a narcotic drug in an especially large quantity) and Article 260, Part 3, Subparagraph "a" (facilitation of the illegal sale of a plant containing a narcotic drug in an especially large quantity) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

The Tbilisi City Court found the defendant fully guilty of the charges and sentenced him to 17 years in prison.
