The EU demanded the repeal of Law on Transparency, Law on Family Values, the Law on the Protection of Minors, which are crucial for protecting Georgia`s sovereignty, national identity - Kobakhidze

The EU demanded the repeal of the Transparency Law, the Law on Family Values, and the Law on the Protection of Minors - laws whose enforcement is fundamentally important for the protection of our national identity and sovereignty. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

As he noted, the Law on Transparency law is a direct analogue of the US Foreign Agents Registration Act [FARA], translated "word for word", and argued that its implementation is fundamentally important for Georgia.

"The EU has also publicly called on Georgia to join sanctions imposed on Russia - a move would have had devastating consequences for the Georgian economy…

Look at their declared statements, specific unfair decisions, absurd resolutions [of the European Parliament], imposed sanctions, double standards, constant threats to revoke visa liberalization for the Georgian people, and the conditions that have existed and continue to exist for Georgia.

The European Union had demanded the repeal of the Law on Transparency, Law on Family Values, the Law on the Protection of Minors, which are crucial for protecting Georgia’s sovereignty and national identity.

Brussels had publicly requested, and continues to request, that Georgia align with sanctions against Russia… Such a step would have caused severe economic damage to the country", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
