Election Day incidents were reported near a polling station in California, where a man armed with an assault rifle has killed one person and injured three others

The police said they didn’t know whether the man – who was described as heavily armed – was killed by police or from a self-inflected gunshot wound.

His identity has not been released, but police said the man opened fire at responding officers.

Schools and polling stations were put in lockdown after the shooter fired at civilians before reportedly barricading himself in a nearby house.
