"America is more divided than we thought" - Hillary Clinton assessed the results of the elections

Speaking to her supporters Wednesday morning, Hillary Clinton formally conceded the presidential race to Donald Trump.
“Last night I congratulated Donald Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of our country. I hope that he will be a successful president for all Americans,” she said.

“Donald Trump is going to be our president. We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead,” she added.

“I know how disappointed you feel because I feel it too. And so do tens of millions of Americans who invested their hopes and dreams in this effort. This is painful, and it will be for a long time,” she said.

“Our campaign was never about one person or even one election. It was about the country we love. And about building an America that’s hopeful, inclusive and big-hearted. We have seen that our nation is more deeply divided than we thought. … But I still believe in America and I always will.”

She urged her supporters to continue to stay involved.

“Our responsibility as citizens is to keep doing our part,” she said. “Never stop believing that fighting for what is right is worth it.”

She wrapped up her remarks saying she was “so grateful for our county and all it has given to me. I count my blessings every day for being an American.
