European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy, Johannes Hahn, responded to the agreement on the suspension mechanism on Twitter :

"I welcome the agreement on the suspension mechanism. I call on the EU Council and the European Parliament to take a decision as soon as possible" - Han said.

Suspension mechanism was adopted at joint negotiations of the European Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission yesterday evening.

The absence of this mechanism what the factor that has so far prevented Georgia and Ukraine from receiving visa-free travel regime with the EU.
