Most of those infected with Omicron received 2 doses and a booster vaccine, which reduced the hospitalization rate. Such a statement made today the Deputy Minister of Health after the meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council.

“More than 1200 Omicron cases have been registered in the laboratory in Georgia. It is estimated that more than half of the circulation is probably Omicron. Most of them are in the capital.

Out of the confirmed cases, only 14 patients needed hospitalization, which is a low rate.

Big part of those infected with Omicron were vaccinated, they also had a booster”, - added Tamar Gabunia.
