Georgian Prime Minister met with Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury. In the meeting, the relations between Georgia and the United Kingdom were discussed.
Irakli Garibashvili stressed the dire security and humanitarian situation in Georgia’s occupied territories. The Prime Minister emphasized that the Government of Georgia is fully committed to the policy of peaceful conflict resolution.
The conversation at the meeting also touched on the regional situation.
The Archbishop of Canterbury is visiting the country as part of his regional tour designed to support peace.
The meeting was attended by British Ambassador to Georgia Mark Clayton, National Adviser on Ecumenical Relations for the Church of England Jeremy Morris, and Director of Peacebuilding for the Church of England James Megoran, while the Georgian side was represented by Head of the Government Administration Revaz Javelidze.
