First Deputy Finance Minister introduced the Draft State Budget 2026 to the "People`s Power"

Giorgi Kakauridze, the First Deputy Finance Minister, introduced the Draft State Budget 2026 to the Parliamentary Political Group "People`s Power".

He reviewed the main macroeconomic and mixed budget parameters, the tax revenues and the state budget incomes and assignments.

"The national economy will exceed 110 billion GEL in 2026, and shall amount to over 140 billion GEL for the 4-year period. Correspondingly, the affluence yearned through the economic growth shall be distributed to the priority directions.

The expenditures part of the mixed budget for 2026 in sum constitutes 35,5 billion GEL, and the charges amount to 30 475, 9 ml GEL.

The assignments for the IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection Ministry were determined by 9 620,8 ml GEL, exceeding the plan for 2025 with 800,8 ml GEL. The greater portion of the hereof assets - 5 015,0 ml GEL - shall be consumed on the pensions, specifically, the increased pensions for the individuals under and over 70, as well as persons with disabilities", - the reporter elucidated.

As he noted, the initial version of the Budget submitted to the Parliament shall be revised and upgraded into sundry new directions, including the mobilization of certain resources for the defense and security domains. According to the Deputy Chair of the "People`s Power", Eka Sepashvili, it is imperative that approximately 1/3 of the expenditure will be directed to the social programs.

"During the meeting, we discussed major infrastructure projects to be implemented in Georgia, including the construction of roads and water supply systems, as well as the rehabilitation and construction of kindergartens and schools, among others. We actively addressed the challenges faced by the public, for which certain funds have been allocated from the budget. In several areas, it was noted that greater attention and the mobilization of additional financial resources are needed. We hope that the Ministry of Finance will take our views into account when revising the draft budget", - she noted.
