Employees of Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia, based on the ruling of a judge, arrested two individuals for fraud committed in large quantities and falsification.

Specifically, the case concerns instances where horse meat was fraudulently supplied instead of beef in kindergartens in the Marneuli and Kareli municipalities.

The investigation established that the companies – "B.G.M.1" and "Georgian Meat Products Farm" – had won tenders announced by the NNLE "Marneuli Municipality Kindergartens Association" and the NNLE "Kareli Municipality Kindergartens Association", within the frames of which they were obliged to supply beef to kindergartens.

In May 2026, the directors of these commercial organizations deceptively suppled horse meat to the kindergartens instead of beef and as a result fraudulently acquired a large amount of funds belonging to the state budget.

The Investigation is being conducted under Subparagraph "b" of Paragraph 3 of the Article 180, as well as Paragraph 1 of the Article 197 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 6 to 9 years as the form of punishment.
