Officers of Rustavi Police Division of Kvemo Kartli Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested one person on charges of large-scale fraud.

The investigation established that the accused person, at various times in Rustavi, placed fake banknotes instead of cash in cash machines in order to receive a large amount of material benefit, resulting in property losses of more than 7,000 GEL to the company.

As a result of the investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers, including a personal search of the accused person, the counterfeit banknotes were seized as evidence.

The investigation is underway under Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 7 years.
