Minister of Education, Chairman of the Government of Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia met with students temporarily displaced from Abkhazia at a youth camp in Bakuriani

Minister of Education, Givi Mikanadze, met with students temporarily displaced from Abkhazia during a youth camp in Bakuriani.

"I believe that the time spent in Bakuriani`s beautiful nature, with its enriching and entertaining activities, will lift your spirits and help you pursue goals essential for your personal growth and our homeland`s progress. Abkhazia is Georgia, and any steps that bring us closer to peace and its peaceful return are both important and welcome. We aim to expand such camps and offer even more diverse opportunities for young people`s development", - said Givi Mikanadze.

The young attendees were also welcomed by Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, and Deacon Guram Charelashvili, Deputy Head of the PR Service of the Georgian Patriarchate. The meeting was interactive, allowing students to ask questions and gain comprehensive information on educational issues.

Throughout the 8-day camp, participants engaged in educational activities, sports, cognitive workshops, and training sessions.

This summer camp is part of a programme supporting schools in the occupied Abkhazia territory, implemented jointly by the National Centre for Teacher Professional Development and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia since 2022. Approximately 200 students aged 9 to 16 participate each year.
