Largest energy company Zhongbo Group is considering investment opportunities in Georgia

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development met with the Chinese company Zhongbo Group to discuss the investment environment in Georgia’s energy sector, including development strategies, reforms, significant projects.

Mariam Kvirivishvili briefed company executives on the country’s economic indicators, speaking in detail about energy sector development, Government’s initiatives to support the private sector in maximising the potential of hydro resources as well as solar, wind, and renewable energy sources across the country.

Company representatives expressed considerable interest in conducting thorough studies and implementing significant investments in various sectors of Georgia’s renewable energy industry.

Deputy Minister Inga Pkhaladze and Head of the Ministry’s Department of Energy Policy and Investment Projects, Aleksandre Sokhadze, attended the meeting.

The Zhongbo Group, headquartered in Beijing, was established in 1991 and employs over 10,000 people. With over 40 subsidiaries, it invests in the construction of 26 factories worldwide. In the renewable energy sphere, the group invests in and constructs large-scale solar and wind power stations, battery storage facilities, and combined renewable energy power plants.

Zhongbo Group is one of China’s largest companies, with annual revenues exceeding USD 6 billion.
