The Civil Aviation Agency reports that data from the first 9 months of 2025 reveal a remarkable surge in air travel at Georgian airports. Passenger numbers have increased by 14%, while the total number of flights has risen by 18%, marking a record-breaking period for Georgian aviation.

“A total of 28,681 flights were operated during January to September, comprising 22,125 scheduled flights and 6,556 charter flights. This total exceeds the flight count for the same period in 2024, which stood at 24,348, representing an 18% increase.

In terms of passenger traffic, Georgian airports accommodated 6,489,755 travellers in these nine months, a 14% rise compared to the first 9 months of 2024, which saw 5,682,304 passengers.

Tbilisi International Airport alone served 4,067,202 passengers, marking a 12% year-on-year increase.

Kutaisi International Airport welcomed 1,407,814 passengers, up 10% from the same period of 2024. Batumi International Airport experienced the most significant growth, serving 995,099 passengers, a 32% increase compared to the previous year.

Cargo transportation also demonstrated strong growth in the 3rd quarter, with the total volume reaching 25,905,200 tonnes over the nine months.

This represents a 50% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Additionally, overall utilisation of Georgian airspace has grown by 5%, with a total of 229,972 flights recorded from January to September, including take-offs, landings, and overflights”, - says the Civil Aviation Agency.
